About this place
At Ōkoshi, spaghetti need not be the only star of the plate: you can order it with a side of hamburg steak or a cutlet. The thick, soft noodles come in “shiro”, seasoned with salt, or can be switched to “aka”, flavoured with ketchup. The hamburg steak version makes a convenient one-plate meal, while menchi-katsu and chicken katsu are also on the menu for those who prefer fried or meat dishes. Listed prices are 900 yen each for spaghetti with hamburg steak or menchi-katsu, and 900 yen with chicken katsu. Spaghetti on its own with a fried egg is 850 yen.
You can also choose a Western-style main dish with rice. One diner who ordered the horse mackerel fry with rice described a plate topped with two butterflied fish fillets, first enjoyed plain and then with sauce or mayonnaise. Other options include mixed fried items with rice and braised pork belly with rice, making the selection suitable whether you feel like fried food or want rice at the centre of the meal.
For a little of everything, there is the Ōkoshi bento, featuring hamburg steak, crab cream croquette, fried prawns and braised pork belly, among other items. It is listed at 1,700 yen. With spaghetti, potato salad and omelette also included, it is a good option if you would like to sample several of the restaurant’s Western-style dishes.
Ōkoshi in Higashi-Azabu serves lunch and, on weekdays, dinner as well. Choose spaghetti with a side dish, or a Western-style main with rice, depending on your mood.
